Tektrend is engineering and systems manufacturing company specializing in the
development and marketing of advanced nondestructive inspection equipment, development of
new leading edge inspection technologies and in providing safety and reliability
engineering services. It is built on strong engineering expertise in materials, mechanics,
computer science, robotics, inspection and reliability.
Founded in 1973, Tektrend was one of the first companies to pioneer the use of
artificial intelligence software for pattern recognition and processing information-rich
waveforms and images on personal computers. In 1983, Tektrend began to adapt artificial
intelligence technology to industrial environments for signal interpretation. To help the
clients use these novel methods in their specialized application environments, Tektrend
engineers developed integrated systems incorporating our in-house designed digital data
acquisition modules and electro-mechanical robotic scanning equipment.
In this new phase in our evolution, we had the capability to deliver complete
hardware/software systems. Tektrends basic systems, concepts, hardware and software
have achieved worldwide acceptance in Canada, the United States, Europe, the Middle East
and Asia.
While our product line continues to evolve and the base of clients diversifies to new
applications, our original field of endeavor, materials reliability, remains a focal point
of our effort in product development. With on-going R&D efforts in ultrasonic guided
waves, materials engineering and new scanner and transducer technologies, we continue to
support our clients with innovative NDE solutions.
The Tektrend client base ranges from defense contractors and the manufacturing, utility
and process industry to government and university research organizations. Current
customers are some of the leading and most influential companies and organizations in
North America and Europe. Systems have been sold to military users for aerospace and
marine inspection, manufacturing industries for process and quality control and a wide
range of research applications.
